Terms of Service

Last updated: June 6, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using icetester.org (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of the Service

icetester.org provides a free, browser-based diagnostic tool for testing WebRTC ICE servers (STUN, TURN, and TURNS), together with educational articles about WebRTC and real-time communication infrastructure. All tests are performed by your own browser; we do not proxy or relay your test traffic.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. In particular, you agree that you will:

  • Only test STUN/TURN servers that you own, operate, or are authorized to test (public STUN servers explicitly offered for public use, such as Google's, may be tested within reasonable limits).
  • Not use the Service to probe, scan, overload, or attack infrastructure belonging to others.
  • Not attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer for malicious purposes, or abuse the Service itself.
  • Not use automated scripts to generate excessive load through the Service.

4. Your Credentials

TURN credentials you enter into the tool are used only by your browser to authenticate against the servers you are testing, and are optionally stored in your own browser's local storage for convenience. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for clearing them from shared or public computers.

5. Intellectual Property

The articles, original text, and design of this site are the property of icetester.org. You may link to and quote our content with attribution. Wholesale reproduction of our articles without permission is not allowed. WebRTC, browser, and product names mentioned on this site are trademarks of their respective owners.

6. Advertising

The Service is supported by advertising served by third parties (Google AdSense). Advertisers are responsible for the content of their advertisements. See our Privacy Policy for details on advertising cookies and how to opt out of personalization.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service and all content are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied. Test results reflect the conditions of your network and browser at the moment of testing and may not represent the experience of other users or networks. Technical articles are provided for educational purposes and may contain inaccuracies; always validate configurations in your own environment before deploying to production.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, icetester.org and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Service, including decisions made based on test results or article content.

9. Changes to the Service and These Terms

We may modify or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We may also revise these Terms; the current version will always be posted on this page with its "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
